Our Story
European Touch is finally online after 28 years of entertaining crowds, halls, restaurants, hotels, ehtnic clubs, bars and pubs! After one of our most successful Oktoberfests ever, we thought it would be time to celebrate with pictures and videos of the action. We wish to thank all our musician partners, family, friends, fans and business/club owners for your valued and continued support over all these years! We have a lot more music in us and we hope to bring even further in the coming decades.
From the Alps of Bavaria and Sudtirol to the Canadian Rockies, we are proud to bring our acoustic and traditional award winning volksmusik to Western Canada and beyond! We label our musik “Organik” as we believe in providing the most authentic music possible. We don’t rely on midi electronics and “canned music”. We are exposed, we are real. We believe when you hire a muscian, they should actually play! Nice thing too, is if the lights go out, the party keeps on going! As long as there is beer, of course! Prosit!
We owe a lot of who we are to our front man and the “Bavarian” in the band, Franz. He came to North America with his button accordion in tow and hasn’t left over 30 years later. A recording artist and legend from his town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, we are proud to host his music, tradition and yodelling from ground zero of Oktoberfest and Bavarian culture. Franz even received a letter from the Bavarian Pope Benedict XVI from Vatican City about a song he composed and how much the Pope liked it. Also, we have to mention his sensational talent on guitar, spoons, schuhplattler dance as well as being a champion beer drinker and Schnupftabak snuffler!
Rounding out the band’s sound with the continental European feel as well features Danilo (“Danny”), Dwane and Tuba Eddie! From Sudtirol (Italy), the Ukraine (and after Saskatchewan), and Steiermark (Austria) each bringing their talent, passion for European folk music and personality to the stage! If you are lucky enough you may even get to hear some of our musician partners that help us out from time to time: Norm, Rob, Greg, Pedro, George, Pat, Lael! We love playing with those guys and many other!
We love beer, having fun and smile, food and friendship. If you are hosting those items, please give us a shout to bring the Musik and some life to your event or party! It’s not only for Oktoberfest, we do this all year long!
